Frank Costanzo - Graphic Illustrator

Hometown - Ralston, Ne.

After 35 years in the corporate world, I was "retired". Being over 50 in the current economy doesn't leave one a whole lot of options. But doing freelance and logo design for years, I decided to get back to painting full time. That and as I said, my wonderful former company giving me the opportunity to do so.

I consider myself more of an illustrator than an artist. With attention to detail, I love bright colors and a retro style similar to the old rock n' roll posters of the 1960's with a little bit of the circus thrown in. Hopefully I am conveying that feeling of fun. I was told by someone recently, I paint young. I guess that's a nice complement, but man, I'm not that old at 56. (I think)

So if anything, I hope I can convey that sense of nostalgia, excitement, and whimsy from rock's golden age, that seems to be making a big comeback.

What goes around, comes around. Just like me.

In less than 2 years time since my previous career ended, I am now in 2 galleries, have had a very nice newspaper article written about me. Well, more for a painting I did of President Obama dressed as Batman. And have been chosen as 1 of 10 artists to have work hanging next year in the Nebraska Governor's Mansion.
